About Me
Hey there! I am Ajay, a master’s student in Computational Sciences at the Technical University of Braunschweig, Germany. I am currently working on my master’s thesis at AUDI AG, Ingolstadt with the focus on Causal Structure Learning.
I enjoy solving problems of different domains using data driven techniques like machine learning and deep learning.
I am most skilled in: Python and Cooking
Academic Projects
Supervisors: Dr.-Ing. Andreas Tollkühn, AUDI AG and Prof. Dr. Dirk Lorenz, Institute for Analysis and Algebra, TU Braunschweig
The project involved modelling the estimation of a causal directed acyclic graph given a dataset. The developed approaches were then implemented in Python and evaluated against a synthetic dataset.
Differentiable Optimization as a layer in neural networks
Supervisors: Prof. Dirk Lorenz and Dr. Christoph Brauer, Institute for Analysis and Algebra, TU Braunschweig
Understanding theoretically the working of backpropogation algorithm for the differentiable optimization layer. Two standard python packages which provide this architectrue out-of-the-box - qpth and cvxpy were evaluated for their speed and computational efficiency against a toy problem. The architecture was used to solve the optimization problem in Speech Signal Dequantization for which the optimization problem first had to be reformulated to facilitate its solving. The results were compared with another popular technique in Speech Signal Dequantization - algorithm unrolling.
Experience
Solving 21st century problems by diging holes and making game changing products like the *not a flamethrower*
Every company needs its networks properly administered and The Boring Compay is no exception. Digging holes is hard and I play my part making sure the whole company stays connected. I lead a team of 5 people and enjoy driving the company to try new technologies.
Education
Harvard University
BSc Computer Science
2010 - 2013
Established in 1636, Harvard is the oldest higher education institution in the United States, and is widely regarded in terms of its influence, reputation, and academic pedigree as a leading university in not just the US but also the world.
During my time at Harvard I learnt most of my key skills that have I have taken through my career such as teamwork and working to tight deadlines. I thouroughly enjoyed my time as university and learnt a lot about a healthy work life balance.
I spent a lot of my free time as a committee member of the Harvard Mountaineering Club taking on roles such as Trip Secretary and Vice-President.
A Little More About Me
Alongside my interests in networks and software engineering some of my other interests and hobbies are:
- Rock climbing
- Gaming
- Knitting
- Becoming a ninja
